| Anyone who has forsaken xanga for myspace or facebook is a traitor! Not really. I haven't entried in over a month, I'm no better. Just wanted to make a note about my semester. This is indeed the "Semester of Love." You ask, "why?" Well, I'll tell you. I'm taking a psychology course entitled "the psychology of love and relationships" and the textbook we use is a Dr. Phil self help book (see above). That's right. The second reason is because Linds and I are currently submerged in a 12 week bible study which delves into the biblical aspects of a healthy relationship aka marriage. Thus- the semester of love. As always with my bi-semesterly entry, I must bitch about my schedule: Cal II is a pile. We just got back our first test and the highest grade was an 81. Needless to say, I got a 69 with 10 possible future bonus points and was dang proud. Plant morph is being taught by a new teacher who thinks she has to show her new colleagues how hard she can be. Psyc is of course a piece of cake, and my seminar class is so easy it just doesn't even exist. So, in light of all my other 15 and 18 hour semesters, this 12 hour grand finale isn't too bad. December 16th here I come! Linds and I recently celebrated our year and a half milestone :) Fun times with that, can't get enough of that woman! We're trying to set into motion some plans to visit her parents in Dubai sometime soon... As if getting to visit them in Moscow wasn't enough. They've got a very choice apt there and are waiting with open arms! Maybe after that we'll visit Ty in Hawaii. Punk. | | |

This has been one of the best summers! They all seem to get better and better. The DAT is now out of the way, I got in the 98th percentile on the perceptual ability and in the 70th percentile on the academic, 3.5 GPA going into the application process so I feel pretty confident.
Linds, Kurd, Fiona, Murat, and I headed to SPI for the 4th of July and that was as well another blast. Reading a dirty romance novel on the balcony anytime we had some drinks. :) Haha good times! A few totties while watching the fireworks... (This is NOT a celebration!) Using the night vision scope to spy a dude trying to scale the wall to break into our complex. He failed and decided to go back to his group of pot-heads occupying the empty lot next door.
Fireworks and bonfire on the beach were as always a perfect mix. We roasted hot dogs, had smores, and beers on the beach that night. Of course everything had the delicious grit of sand, but that just lets you know you're doing it the right way.
EVERYBODY is getting engaged. What is the dang deal!? Congrats everyone, but slow it down now! Vershaw, Adair, Claire, Rhiannon and Steuart are MARRIED now! Dang people! Everyone's growing up. Jason has a job in Chicago, I'm getting ready for graduation and dental school. We're not grown-ups! Oh well, I still sleep til noon and watch nonsense tv any chance I get.
Summer II is ending, and next semester will be the easiest yet. 12 hours, baby. Ooooh yeah. Graduation in December, and in my semester between graduation and dental school I'm thinking I'll either sub full time or find a teaching job for those six months.
My niece is growing exponentially, cuter all the time. She now has 2 baby teeth. I'm sure all of you care. I'll post some pictures if I get on anytime soon. Which I won't. By the time I get motivated to put pics up she'll be 9. Years. She'll be 9 years old.

| We've hitch hiked across Moscow again, discovered 1/2 a liter of beer (GOOD beer at that) sold in the street kiosks for 1 us dollar, and more ho's.
A new little nugget of Russian gold- Every 50 yards or so, on the sidewalk you can see 3 or 4 port-a-pottys lined up together. No big deal, right? Zoom in on the far left port-a-potty on ANY ONE of these clusters of shitters and you will see an old woman with a broom and maybe a magazine, book, or vacant not-so-bright look on her face.
Ok, now if you haven't pieced together what's going down here (aside from the human waste), I'll spell it out for you. These hobo ladies are taking over port-a-pottys and charging 10 rubles to use it!!! HILARIOUS!
I totally got a picture of one such can-clusters with Linds and her mom in front of it, and there was an oblivious bonus hooker in the picture too. You better believe I'm posting that picture. I may even make it my desktop wallpaper. Or Christmas card or something. | | |
| We've seen a Rheesus monkey dressed up in Russian army camoflauge. It looked like a wolfboy. It was great.
There are prostitutes and beer/cigarettes for sale on every corner 24 hours a day.
We've seen a KGB car hit one of its own right after the guy got out of the car and stepped in front of it.
MOSCOW IS CRAZY! We've been here about a week and a half, and we're getting to the point where we're missing home. The food, the family, the pets, driving ourselves, not having to hitch hike across town if we have a long way to go... The list goes on.
I can't wait to get my pics loaded on the comp at home so I can throw them on here and show the pics to the 4 people that read this. :)
